Job Description

Provides administrative support to the Regional Manager of Health Information Services and portfolio as required.Functions as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team. Expertise required in developing and maintaining excellentworking relationships with a broad range of individuals and organizations. Shows exemplary customer service and theflexibility to deal with fluctuating workload demands. Demonstrates core competencies effectively including teamworkand collaboration, adaptability, initiative and pro-activity, diversity awareness, development of self and others, andcustomer/client focus. Supports collection and dissemination of regional acute care data.QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Completion of post-secondary education in office administration through a business school or college
(combinations of education and experience may be considered)
  • Completion of a recognized medical terminology course preferred
  • Valid Manitoba Class V driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel the region year-round
  • Accurate word processing at 50 words per minute (typing test will be required)
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
  • Knowledge of Outlook Scheduling System an asset
  • Minimum two (2) years ‘experience in directly related position preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of office methods and procedures and office equipment
  • Experience in the use of and Admission/Discharge/Transfer (ADT) System, Electronic Patient Record (EPR) and
Electronic Medical Record (EMR–Accuro) an asset
  • Knowledge of PHIA and other related legislation
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and independently
