Job Description

As a member of the Rehabilitation Team, provides assigned care to client/ resident and completes department dutiesunder the supervision of the designated registered therapist. Provides along with the team therapy services to hospitalinpatients, outpatients, personal care home residents, and primary health care clients. Demonstrates and understands thephilosophy of rehabilitation and reinforces this philosophy in all contacts with clients/residents, staff, and the public.The incumbent must fulfill the requirements of the Criminal Records/Vulnerable Person, Child Abuse Registry Check andAdult Abuse Registry Check, and adhere to all Northern Health Region (NHR) policies and procedures.QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Recognized Rehabilitation Assistant certificate (alternate combinations of education and experience may be
considered)
  • Current certification from a recognized Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), or obtain within three (3)
months of commencing employment
  • Previous rehabilitation experience is an asset
  • Previous clerical experience is an asset
  • Previous sewing experience is an asset
  • Working knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Internet
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to speak Cree an asset
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills through clear communication and positive behavior
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Exercises critical thinking skills
  • Satisfactory employment record required
  • Successful candidate subject to provide security checks in accordance with Security Checks for Employment
