Job Description

As an integral part of the Mental Health Program, a Proctor III will provide services to individuals experiencing multipleneeds due to mental illness and/or poor mental health, that requires intensive input in order to reduce risk and promoterecovery so that the individual themselves can be an active part of their community. The client, with the help of theMental Wellness and Recovery Practitioner, will identify specific goals and activities. The focus of Proctor III services willbe on crisis supports and rehabilitation in the areas of social behavior, life skills, self-care, medication self-administration, coping skills, etc.QUALIFICATIONS• Completion of an educational training program in the area of mental health (other combinations of education andexperience will be considered)

  • Must have a valid Manitoba Class V driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel the region year
round
  • One (1) year related volunteer/work experience
  • Working knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet
  • Advanced Violence Prevention training obtained within three (3) months of employment
  • A.S.I.S.T. training obtained within three (3) months of employment
  • Mental Health First Aide obtained within three (3) months of employment
  • Understanding of client empowerment
  • Knowledge of mental health, mental illness, the principles of recovery, and therapeutic techniques
  • Knowledge of community resources
