Benefits CoordinatorRequisition ID: 312132 Posting End Date: April 22, 2022Site: Shared Health Work Location: Flexible in Manitoba – preference will be those living in Flin FlonDepartment / Unit: Human ResourcesJob Stream: Non-Clinical Union: Non UnionizedAnticipated Start Date - End Date: ASAP - 09/19/2022Reason for Term: Maternity LeaveFTE: 0.75Anticipated Shift: Days Daily Hours Worked: 7.50 (will be changing to 7.75) Annual Base Hours: 2015Salary is commensurate with education and qualifications.Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health servicesacross Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralizedadministrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.Position OverviewThe incumbent coordinates the administration of the Northern Health Regions corporate benefit programs. Consults withand advises employees on eligibility, provisions and other matters related to benefits. Maintains benefit records anddocuments necessary for implementing benefit coverage. Assists with employee benefit communications/in-servicing.May conduct orientation programs on the benefit plans. The nature and scope of the work performed is routine andvaried. A high degree of confidentiality is required.Experience

  • Two (2) years’ experience in benefit administration preferred
  • Previous experience working within the confines of Collective Agreements.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Completion of post-secondary education in office administration through a business school or college (other
combinations of education & experience may be considered)Qualifications and Skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of Window based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and frequent interruptions
  • Ability to work with a variety of sensitive information and to respect and promote confidentially
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to speak Cree an asset
  • Demonstrates interpersonal skills through clear communication and positive behavior
  • Ability to respect and promote a cultural diverse population
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work independently Accurate word processing at 40 words per minute
(typing test will be required)
  • Ability to format and draft correspondence, forms, and reports
Physical Requirements• Valid Manitoba Class V driver’s license and willingness to travel the region year round.
  • Travel including gravel and winter roads and where applicable by small plane within the region year round.
  • Office environment with extended time spent on the computer
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), ChildAbuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
