Job Description

The Visitation Clerk is the first-line contact for arranging all visitation for Long Term Care residents in the Northern Health Region.This includes in-person visitation in pods, in room, outdoors, and virtual visiting. The Visitation Clerk is responsible to ensure thepolicies and procedures of the Northern Health Region and Shared Health related to visitation are implemented and followed bystaff, residents, and visitors when visiting in long term care facilities. This will include the disinfection of the visitation pods, provisionand demonstration of PPE usage, and other duties as required to support the residents and staff of long term care.The incumbent must fulfill the requirements of the Criminal Records/Vulnerable Person, Child Abuse Registry check and Adult AbuseRegistry check, and adhere to all Northern Health Region policies and procedures.QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Completion of post-secondary education in business administration, office administration, or other equivalent
  • Medical terminology course (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
  • Knowledge of basic infection control and personal protective equipment usage in long term care settings
  • Scheduling program(s) or databases
  • Usage of iPad and other technology for video conferencing/visitation purposes
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to speak Cree an asset
  • Respects and promotes a culturally diverse population
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team and independently
  • Ability to deploy customer service techniques and attitudes to residents, visitors, and families
  • Satisfactory employment record required
