Job Description

Job DescriptionCEDA is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our Finance Team and play a key role in our success! Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide the General Managers and site leadership their monthly financial statements, key metrics and job cost statements
  • Provide additional insights and build forecasts by using various accounting data points, historical reports, and CEDA’s field ticketing system (FieldFX)
  • Prepare, review and analyze monthly profitamp; loss statements and project reports to ensure the timeliness and integrity of the region’s financial results
  • Support in preparation of consolidated regional annual budget, monthly forecast and monthly financial scorecard; this includes working with various levels of regional leadership to understand key business drivers and provide insightful variance commentary.
  • Complete journal entries (using Microsoft AX), profitamp; loss review, reports, accruals and reconciliation administration for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close
  • Update the regional reporting model based on data from Microsoft Dynamics AX
  • Prepare analysis and reports as requested by General Managers and the regional Vice President. This includes project reporting, margin analysis, cost reviews, revenue by customer, various others as required
  • Troubleshoot Field FX and accounting software issues and project adjustments as needed
  • Work with Contracts and Account Receivable teams on any project billing or costing discrepancies
  • Other duties as assigned
Role Specifications
  • Three years of progressive experience in accounting, including roles as a project accountant or cost analyst
  • Working towards a CPA designation is an asset
  • Direct experience with financial and project accounting applications including ERP and Field ticketing systems is considered an asset
  • Excel capabilities
    • Strong grasp on writing formulas (IF statements, vlookup and xlookup).
    • Experience with power queries, pivot tables and using Power BI is considered an asset but not required
  • Business diploma, University degree in Accounting, Finance or Business is required
  • Familiarity with the oil and gas, energy or industrial service industries is considered an asset
