  • Must self-identify as Indigenous Status/Non-status
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) or 10+ years of work experience
  • Have a valid full Class 5 Drivers License at time of application (cannot be the graduated drivers #39; license GDL). If you currently have a GDL, please review this link: New driver license requirements| Alberta.ca
ProcessCandidates who apply may be selected to attend a 4-week training program at Keyano College. Above all else, we are looking for enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. If you are chosen for an interview please come prepared to discuss why a career in Heavy Equipment Operating is for you!
  • Tuition costs are covered, but candidates will not be paid while attending classroom training at Keyano
  • Upon successful completion of training, candidates may commence a paid, up to 6-month coop at Syncrude Mildred Lake or Syncrude Aurora Mine. Placements will be determined by the business.
  • Candidates with prior HEO experience will not be considered for this program.
Location and other Key Details:
  • You will work out our Syncrude Mildred Lake or Syncrude Aurora Mine in Fort McMurray.
  • The shift schedule is a rotation of days and nights (12-hour shifts)
  • This is a temporary position for up to 6 months
  • For Ft Chipewyan, Conklin and Janvier, we would offer the Rotational Program (including accommodationamp; bus pass, if required) for the 6 months coop work term.
  • This position is safety sensitive
