Job Description

Shorelines Casino Thousand Islands is currently looking for a hands-on professional general maintenance team member who will be acting under the direction of the Facilities Manager. A general maintenance team member will be required to perform installations, repairs, and replacements for the entire Casino. You will be responsible for keeping our Casino in top-notch condition. Other responsibilities include:

  • Maintains life safety systems such as fire alarms, emergency power, sprinklers, etc.
  • Performs active or preventative maintenance on all building systems as directed
  • Maintains parts and equipment inventories; anticipates requirements; submits order requests to manager
  • Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Maintaining a high level of professionalism while providing exceptional guest service at all points of contact
  • Builds strong working relationships with guests and employees
  • Complies with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed
  • Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial maintenance including mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, network cabling and termination, drywall repairs, painting, furniture repairs, general facility repairs
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to remain calm and focused during emergency situations
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel when required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Smart Serve Certification
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • Candidates must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, and be available for emergency call-in when required. The hours of work will be based on operational and business needs. Other – Successful candidate must have:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Gaming Assistant Registration through the Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO)
