Georgina Community Food AnimatorSeptember-December, 2021 contract with the possibility of renewalSalary: $21.00/hr per 37.5 hours/week (fee-for-services contract or as an employee)The Good Food Collective at the Link is a partnership between Routes Connecting Communities, Georgina Community Food Pantry, and Community Living Georgina. Its goals are to engage residents in the development of community meals, a social enterprise catering venture, and the development of other community-led local food projects.We are seeking an experienced, creative and highly motivated individual who will oversee our community kitchen programming and engage the local community. The Community Food Animator will work closely with the project team and residents to develop community-led food projects. These include weekly lunch offerings at The Link, and a resident-led catering venture. The Food Animator will also involve and motivate individuals, promoting inclusion, knowledge sharing, and participation.Duties and responsibilities: · Community engagement and outreach, connecting residents to opportunities to participate and co-design local food initiatives· Promote community meals to the public, track orders, and oversee meals production· Document weekly activities and tracking revenue and expenses· Along with residents, develop healthy and affordable meals for public consumption· Maintain database of interested residents, consumers, and relevant stakeholders (i.e. local chef)· Attend collective coordination meetings and present reports as required· Outreach and keep participants engaged, motivated, and learning· Assist with food catering venture exploration to promote local food and offer on-the job training· Other duties as assignedQualifications and Experience: · Demonstrated commitment to engaging diverse community members· Experience leading community projects, food projects an asset· Interest in conducting outreach, facilitating community kitchens activities· Knowledge in planning and executing successful community programs· Effective communication and organizational skills· Up to date food handlers’ certification or willing to re-certify· Driver license and access to a vehicle as asset· Flexible work hoursContract length: 4 monthsApplication deadline: 2021-09-30Job Types: Full-time, ContractSalary: $21.00 per hourSchedule:
