Job Description

Company DescriptionIntricate Group is a young, exciting & challenging place to work. We are looking to hire a Instrumentation Technician Apprentice who is motivated to grow with the company. This role is sustainable, there is substantial room for advancement to support the growth of our services in the Edmonton area. You will be able to establish a regular work schedule and this position will allow the successful candidate to develop new skills, grow organically and be part of a fun team atmosphere. You will be involved in supporting various departments such as field emissions services, automation, measurement & production reporting in both a field and office setting.Job DescriptionThe principal role of a 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice Instrumentation Technician will be monitoring, detecting, quantifying and reporting on emissions on oil and gas facilities, while promoting a healthy and safe workplace and ensuring top performance and quality service.Looking to fill positions in Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, Grande Prairie, Drayton Valley and Red Earth.Shift work position, 8 days on and 6 days off, PLEASE note that travel, out of town and camp work is a requirement.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Field role, including performing Fugitive Emission Surveys and screening – use and care of a FLIR GFx320 Optical Gas Imaging camera and other sophisticated tech.
  • Complete technical trouble shooting and field maintenance
  • Complete well site and facility shutdown checks and inspections
  • Understand, interpret and trouble shoot RTU, EFM and PLC configurations
  • Support small construction and CSU projects
  • Responsible for calibration, maintenance, proving and inspections of gas and liquid measurement
  • Interpret blueprints, circuit diagrams and schematics
  • Apply AER Directive 017 regulations to work habits and procedures
  • Collect / Validate Fuel, Flare & Vent Data (Understand the regulations to interpret this data)
  • Understand high level reporting delineation, regulatory requirements, measurement best practices, etc.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior personnel

  • Have flexibility in terms of schedule and travel requirements, BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan

  • Excellent communication, organization, time-management and leadership skills to ensure smooth operations and effective collaboration
  • Strong focus on promoting the safety culture at Intricate and ensuring that safe work procedures and processes are followed in the field
  • Create and foster healthy working relationships with clients and vendors
  • Focused on providing best-in-class services and ensuring quality workmanship
  • Lead by setting a good example and engage the other team members to achieve goals
  • Participate in all required department, area and company meetings
  • Expected to be 95% - 100% billable
  • Expected to work in both field and office environments depending on current business needs
  • Understanding of emissions regulations and guidelines across many jurisdictions, e.g., Directive 060 in Alberta, and OGC Fugitive Emission Management Guideline in BC.
QualificationsTRAINING, CERTIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma
  • 3rd or 4th Year Instrumentation Apprenticeship
  • In-depth knowledge of field activities, oil and gas facilities
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office, Google and company software applications
  • All safety tickets (H2S, First Aid, WHMIS, and etc.)
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 operator’s license or equivalent with clean driver abstract
  • Optical Gas Imaging Certification Training will be considered an asset
