Job Description

The OpportunityAs a Guest Service representative, you set the stage for first impressions and ongoing commitment to service excellence. The exceptional service and informative details regarding the Citys offerings including events, rentals and programming opportunities to all guests is of utmost importance. All transactions related to day-to-day drop-in sales, fees, programs, services and registrations are the responsibility of the Guest Services representatives. Functions include:

  • A Front-line sales and service both in person, via email, and on the telephone
  • Ongoing administration duties
  • Program sales and registration
  • Room rental sales and service
  • Liaise with SDWC facility user groups and guests
  • Cash handling and reconciliation
Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional service to all customers including: visitors, user groups, contractors, staff, volunteers, internal City departments and other cultural or community organizations.
  • Ensure the safety of all customers
  • Respond to inquiries by phone, email or in person
  • Inform patrons and promote activities, events and programs available at the different facilities within the department and City
  • Accept payments and apply credits as necessary for programs and services
  • Register clients with updated accurate details and information
  • Room rental set up and tear down
  • Ongoing reconciliation and daily cash outs
  • Operate and assist with maintaining a variety of office equipment
  • General administrative duties including filing, statistics, stocking, sorting and shredding
You Bring
  • High school plus up to 2 years post secondary education in office administration or similar
  • Two years administrative experience
  • Two years experience in customer service capacity including dealing with difficult customers
  • Competency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Demonstrated proficiency data entry & management
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Cash handling and reconciliation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Class 5 drivers license; some travel between work sites will be required
