Your Opportunity:The primary purpose of this position is to support the ongoing continuing education of nursing staff supporting Seniors Health programs and services. This role requires specialized expertise in order to provide resources, consultation and ensure clinical competencies and organizational standards/practices are maintained within specified areas of practice. A broad perspective is required for complex problem solving as well as collaborative work with other departments. The expectations of this role are to work independently balanced with the ability to work collaboratively in teams for project work. Seeking information on best practice, determining implementation methods using innovative solutions, identifying and overcoming barriers, and the development of procedures to reflect best practice are expectations of the position. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.Description:As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
