Job Description

Northern Metalic Sales is an established, independent Industrial Supplier with stores across Alberta and British Columbia. We are looking for an individual for the position of Purchasing Administrator at Northern Metalic Sales Grande Prairie.We are looking for a team member with excellent data entry skills, a keen eye and attention to detail to support our Purchasing department in the role of Purchasing Administrator. The ability to identify minor details is a key function of this position.Key Attributes:

  • Comfortable working with the public
  • Work well without direct supervision
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate, be able to work in Excel and an Integrated accounting system
  • Previous Industry knowledge would be helpful
  • Purchasing and sourcing of product to meet customer requirements in a timely and efficient manner
Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes product requirements and places order as needed to meet customer requirements considering inventory parameters, lead times, and vendor specifics. Expedites orders as necessary.
  • Work closely with suppliers and their customer service team to build relationships and resolve delivery, quality issues.
  • Drive operational excellence and best practices with the aim to reduce costs.
  • Review open orders and back order reports for timely receipt of inventory.
Education, Skills and Experience Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education considered an asset
  • Sound computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Sound knowledge of industrial products an asset
  • Organized, self-motivated team player, able to work under pressure
  • Second-level Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with Evolution or similar ERP
  • Experience with eCommerce
  • Marketing skills
