We serve children of families accessing the FSCD program(Family Support for Children with Disabilities), either in-home or in office. We also offer school based SLP services as well as supporting families seeking private speech &/or language services. Our vision is to provide services to all who pursue speech & language supports for their children or students.About the jobFoundations Speech & Language Services is currently seeking a full-time speech-language assistant to provide school-based speech & language intervention for children aged 4-15. This position is ideal for aSLP-A seeking opportunity to enhance their clinical skills and work under the direction of experienced SLPs and SLP-As. Applicants who do not have post secondary training in speech-language assisting, can be considered if the applicant has experience working with children and SLPs.   • One school is 45-minute drive, and the other is a 60-minute drive, one way.
  • Travel time is considered part of the workday (hourly wage) and mileage is reimbursed.
Virtual Services
  • Potential opportunities to provide virtual services to remote schools
In office (GP) client appointments
  • Potential for 1:1 in clinic sessions
_____________________________________________________________________________________The successful candidate will work both individually and as part of a team under the assignment of a speech- language pathologist. The successful candidate must be willing to work within the aforementioned service deliveries.Assets
  • Experience with preschool &/or school-age population.
  • Experience with developmental disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder
  • Experience providing speech & language programming in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of FOIP Legislation; Microsoft programs including Excel, Outlook, and databases.
Qualifications
  • Completion of diploma from an accredited post-secondary speech-assistant program or equivalent training may be considered (e.g., previous experience working with SLPs).
  • Valid Alberta drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle as travel is required (or car may be provided).
  • Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Record Check.
