Job Description

Source is a fully integrated producer, supplier and distributor of high quality Northern White frac sand, primarily to the WCSB. Source provides its customers with a full end-to-end solution through its Wisconsin mine assets, processing facilities, unit train capable rail assets, strategically located terminal network and “last mile” logistics capabilities. Source’s full service approach allows customers to rely on its logistics capabilities to increase reliability of supply and to ensure the timely delivery of their growing frac sand requirements. In addition to its transload terminal network and in-basin storage capabilities, Source has also developed Sahara, a proprietary wellsite mobile sand storage and handling system.Job Title: Plant OperatorReports To: Terminal ManagerLocation: Wembley TransloadPay Type: Hourly (Overtime Eligible)Status: Full Time, TemporaryPosition Summary: Do you thrive in a fast-paced work environment with heavy workflow volumes Join our Wembley terminal location as an integral part of our terminal network. Our terminals are the hub for all our products and is responsible for proper loading, unloading, and recording of all materials to ensure they can be shipped accordingly to our last mile services. General tidiness around the facility including sand clean-up and shovelling will also be required. The successful candidate will have a mechanical aptitude to comply with safety and operating procedures, while holding external parties accountable to the same standard. Employees are expected to operate associated auxiliary equipment effectively and safely and perform maintenance as needed.The successful candidate must be open to working shift work; shift changes with orders.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Load various grades of sand onto trucks as required by oil and gas service companies
  • Unload sand products from trucks and/or railcars and store in appropriate bins
  • Weigh all trucks prior to loading and unloading as well as weighed out after loading or unloading
  • Inspect and maintain all equipment associated with plant operation (including but not limited to: grease, oil etc.)
  • Report concerns or hazards which could arise, report findings to Plant manager and/or HSE Manager
  • Ensure Provincial and Federal laws, procedures, standards and other requirements are complied with by visitors and drivers on plant site
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and inventory tracking is maintained; and
  • Coordination with other work crews on location
Requirements:
  • Complying with all required Safety and Employment regulations throughout operation and transport of units (including Hours of Work, Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Work procedures where applicable)
  • Ensuring completion of all Training and associated documentation before proceeding with operation of equipment-further dependent on location, client, and coordinate operations
  • Coordinate with associated crews and supervisors on location, ensuring clear communication and timely information sharing vital to smooth operations and Safety concerns
  • Complying with operation standards regarding proper equipment use and maintenance; and
  • Taking care to use and inspect as necessary all PPE required for Safe Operation including Hard Hat, Dust Masks (Respirators), Gloves, High-Visibility Coveralls, Safety Boots, Safety Glasses and Fall Protection Equipment where applicable
Qualifications: We are looking for an individual with a hardworking attitude, who has strong organizational skills and is detail oriented. This individual must be self-motivated and adaptable to change. Other basic requirements include:
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a field environment requiring strict adherence to operational procedural and safety regulations
  • Valid Drivers Licence and own transportation
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Willingness to complete tasks outside of regular work activities as part of the team
  • Ability to work effectively within a team, maintaining a mutually respectful work culture
  • Able to pass pre-employment and ongoing drug, alcohol and fit suitability testing
  • Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel; and
  • Experience handling frac sand or operating bulk transload plants is an asset
