In joining our team at this stage, you would play a critical role in taking our technology to a scalable API-centric platform. We are looking for an experienced Android Developer. You would play a critical role in the development of our Android platform.Note: This is a 10-20 hours per week contract opportunity for someone based in Vancouver, BC (50% in our beautiful water-front Gastown office, 50% from home).RequirementsWho you are

• 3+ years of professional experience in developing Android applications
• You have a solid understanding of Kotlin, RxJava, REST and GraphQL
• Knowledgable about the ins and outs of the Android platform, SDK, tools and the eco-system
• Understanding of Google’s Android design principles, interface guidelines, and best practices
• Experience using Fastlane and delivering Apps to Google Play Store
• You #39;re able to clearly articulate your knowledge and reasoning to technical and non-technical team members
• You’re proactive and have a strong desire to explore new tools and technologies
• You have a passion to always improve and deliver high-quality software
• You’re excited to work in an open environment where you and your colleagues embrace change and new resources in order to achieve the ultimate goal
• You understand the value of testing and automation across an application
• You are a self-starter who is daring and is willing to question assumptions, scopes and specifications, and UI/UX designs

Bonus points for

• An academic background in computer science
• Experience with iOS app development
• Your own app in the Play Store / App Store
• Familiarity and experience with push notifications
• Experience in making Android test cases using Espresso and Junit

• Be encouraged to learn and grow as a developer while bringing a curious and ambitious perspective to your work
• Contribute technical expertise to all aspects of our software development process, from planning, and architecture, through to testing, deployment, and maintenance
• Write clean, modular, robust code to implement the desired requirements
• Work with our support and QA team to troubleshoot issues
• Identify and prototype best practices for Android engineering
