Job Description

On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Cybersecurity Systems Administrator (w/ RHEL and ELK experience) to join their team on a temporary full-time basis.Summary of the Role:The Cybersecurity Systems Administrator will be responsible for the design, administration, and maintenance of systems hardware and software solutions, with a focus on operational support of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana (ELK). The role involves working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and security compliance. This is a hybrid role, requiring some onsite work at the Vancouver office.Dutiesamp; Responsibilities:

  • Perform system administration tasks for production and staging environments based on ELK and Kafka.
  • Onboard new logs from multiple applications/services into the central logging system.
  • Troubleshoot ELK, Index Management, lifecycle, pipelines, and Logstash filters.
  • Implement snapshot and restore processes.
  • Administer RHEL systems, including security patching and lifecycle management.
  • Provide Tier 2 operational support for production infrastructure.
  • Monitor availability, capacity, and performance of servers and address security issues.
  • Facilitate technical discussions during onboarding of new services and business units.
Core Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • 2+ years of experience managing ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana) in an operational environment.
  • Experience configuring ELK pipelines using grok patterns and scripts.
  • 10+ years of professional IT experience.
  • 5+ years of experience facilitating technical and non-technical discussions in stakeholder meetings.
Desired Skillsamp; Experience:
  • CISSP or other cybersecurity certification.
  • ITIL certification.
  • Experience with identity and access management tools (SAML, OIDC, PAM, MFA).
  • Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Kafka, Redis.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and network technologies (firewalls, load balancers).
Terms:This is a temporary full-time role with a 24-month duration to start. The position is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week onsite for the first 2-3 months, and likely reducing to once a week thereafter.
