What you #39;ll have to do:The person will be responsible for going out and doing installations and service, as needed, in retail businesses. Products are those specific to Sensormatic (Electronic Article Surveillance: EAS), video surveillance systems and other depending on what is sold to the retail trade.Sensormatic is looking for an electronics technician or equivalent with or without experience. Training is provided, as well as a vehicle, clothing and tools needed for the job.Computer and networking skills, such as using a computer and knowing how a network works in general, are an asset.Video surveillance is increasingly networked, and we use PoE switches and servers as well as IP cameras.The technician will :
  • Speak and write French and English.
  • Install and service SEA and other products.
  • Take readings at customer sites to submit product needs to sales.
  • Fill out the installation or service sheet for each customer and forward it after each call.
  • Program and adjust AES and video systems with tools provided.
  • Travel to the business, with the truck provided, to perform the installation or service.
  • Occasionally sleep outside and work evenings when required.
  • Interact with customers and co-workers in a professional manner.
  • Complete mandatory courses.
  • Ensure vehicle is maintained as recommended.
  • Ensure that his inventory is up to date in his vehicle and make replacement requests after each customer when a part is used.
  • Provide basic training on the installed product when necessary.
  • Ensure that rules and procedures established by Sensormatic Canada Inc. are followed.
What we #39;re looking for:Education :
  • College diploma
  • DEC in electronics/electrotechnology or DEP in installation and maintenance of security systems
  • Valid Class 5 license
Experience:
  • Experience in electronic repair and networking
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting networked peripherals
Talents:
  • Good computer and networking skills, with a good knowledge of operating systems.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Good mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools
