Job Description

As an HVAC Designer, you will play a critical role in designing, planning, and implementing HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of efficient and comfortable indoor environments while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project teams to develop HVAC system designs, including load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork layout, and piping systems.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather relevant information and evaluate project requirements.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed drawings and schematics, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
  • Perform heat load calculations and energy modeling to determine HVAC system sizing and efficiency.
  • Select appropriate HVAC equipment, components, and materials based on project specifications, energy efficiency standards, and client requirements.
  • Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including technical specifications, construction drawings, and equipment schedules.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate HVAC systems seamlessly into building designs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards, such as ASHRAE, NEC, and local building codes.
  • Review and evaluate contractor submittals and provide technical support during the construction phase.
  • Conduct system performance testing and troubleshooting, and recommend appropriate adjustments or modifications as necessary.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in HVAC system design and energy efficiency.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to address project requirements, resolve technical issues, and ensure successful project completion.
Requirements
  • Bachelor #39;s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Previous experience as an HVAC Designer or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Familiarity with HVAC design software, such as Carrier HAP or Trane TRACE.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC system design principles, load calculations, and equipment selection.
  • Solid understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to HVAC systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality of work.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Certified HVAC Designer, LEED AP) are a plus.
