Your journey starts here.Working in the Restaurant Development department, the Junior Designer is responsible for developing timeless design solutions aligned with approved project goals. You will work under the supervision of a Senior Project Designer to produce high-quality and impactful design solutions in support of existing inventory and assets (CapEx), ensuring brand integrity across all existing locations. ResponsibilitiesCapEx Program – Support the Senior Project Designer with functions including, but not limited to:
  • Generate presentation material (computer models, drawings, precedent imagesamp; renderings).
  • Develop space planning solutions and other drawing studies as required.
  • Collaborate and support Senior Designer with concept, schematic and design development.
  • Research and source relevant vendors, products and materials.
  • Obtain quotes and prepare project FF amp;E estimates.
  • Correspond with store operations to clarify scope and existing conditions.
  • Coordinate with external consultantsamp; vendors as required for projects or tasks.
  • Update floor plans as requested from stores on a as-needed basis.
  • Prepare and organize meeting notes.
  • Organize and maintain electronic folders and filing system.
  • Complete upon repair and maintenance requests from Operations and JRG CapExamp; Facilities teams
  • Coordinate with the Senior Designer and Project Manager to review shop drawings, submittals and RFI’s during construction phases for compliance with contract documents and compliance with design and brand standards.
General Team Supportamp; Collaboration:
  • Meet with vendors, organize, and schedule meet + greets/ lunch + learns with the design team.
  • Collaborate and support Project Designers with implementing test FF amp;E, tracking performance and durability.
  • Organize and manage samples library.
  • Organize and maintain electronic standard specifications documentation.
Requirements
  • Strong ability to conceptualize and create 3D environments through visual presentation of sketches, computer renderings, and material selections.
  • Ability to build strong relationships internally and with consultants, contractors, and vendors.
  • Strong ability to present and communicate design concepts to peers, external partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Understanding of development and reading and producing construction documents alongside Senior Designer.
  • Independent and collaborative attitude in a high-functioning development team with the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Understanding of the design and integration of all consultant disciplines required to construct and operate a full-service restaurant project.
  • This is an in-office role based in Vancouver, BC.
Salary Range$55,000-$70,000 per yearEducationamp; Training
  • Minimum 4-year degree in Interior Design or similar curriculum.
  • 1-2 years #39; experience related to Interior Design, hospitality (restaurant) project experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of building codes and accessibility codes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop for high-level renderings and communication of design intent.
  • 3D modeling experience and skills are a plus.
