Mid-/Senior-Level Network Systems EngineerWe are seeking a Network/Systems Engineer to be a part of a world-class capabilities related to the energy science and technology associated with the ORNL and DOE mission. Selection will be based on qualifications, relevant experience, skills, and education. This position is within the ORNL National Security Sciences Directorate and will support projects at the Grid Research Integration and Deployment Center (GRID-C), to perform research and development (R amp;D) and operations support for national security applications. Scientists and engineers at this level are expected to possess technical skill sets within network engineering and will be required to be innovative and creative in their specific technical field of expertise. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying their experience and knowledge to support scientific applications in network/systems engineering thru developing operational and research solutions for advanced/precision timing and sensing.Purpose: The Network/Systems Engineer hired for this position will be expected to provide both operational and research expertise that strategically advances science and technology consistent with ORNL #39;s aspiration to be the world #39;s premier R amp;D institution and advance ORNL #39;s science culture. They will be expected to design, develop, and engineer advanced timing and associated research networks in support of improvements, modifications, and upgrades to the national electrical grid systems.
