Job Description

Mandate:Reporting to the Freight Manager, the Ocean Freight Coordinator is responsible for monitoring international cargo from origin to destination, liaising daily with origin offices and partners, managing manifests, customs clearance, and delivery instructions. The candidate is also responsible for ensuring timely processing and upkeep of accounting/billing for clients.Other responsibilities: • Coordinate and manage the operational logistics of ocean freight shipments within supply-chain work units or departments.• Collaborate with managers/supervisors to efficiently schedule ocean freight shipments, in a cost and time-efficient manner. • Maintain regular communication with other freight coordinators, managers, procurement department, and inventory clerks to coordinate activities across warehouses, facilities, or other relevant supply chain units or departments.• Manage inventory of materials and parts required for ocean freight shipments.• Generate and maintain various reports tracking the progress of ocean freight shipments, and other relevant data, utilizing both manual and computerized systems.• Oversee and monitor the logistics of moving parts, supplies, and materials within the establishment, ensuring timely shipment and receipt of supplies, materials, and products.• Prepare and process all necessary customs documents for both international and U.S. ocean freight shipments.• Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.• Manage and maintain transportation documentation, such as bills of lading, CBSA intact exam forms, and other relevant records.Requirements:• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Business Administration • Minimum 2 years of experience in ocean freight operations • Familiarity with customs clearance processes and import/export regulations• Minimum 2 years of experience using CargoWise One system and Laserfiche is required • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Windows, Word and Excel – slicers, v-lookups, build formulas/automation)• CIFFA designation is considered an asset What You Offer:• Excellent oral and written communication skills • Outstanding customer service skills, overseeing customer’s orders from end to end• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously• Able to work efficiently in a team environment, as well as independently• Able to build and maintain positive relationships with carriers and vendors What We Offer:• Equal opportunity employer• Competitive compensation• Comprehensive health and dental care• Balance between work and home life
