The opportunity: As the Payroll Accountant, you will assist in the accounting, reporting, and analysis of all payroll and benefits related expenses for North American, European, and Asia payrolls, provide advice on best practices for complex payroll and benefit transactions, and manage the treasury aspects for payroll bank accounts. Reporting to the Manager, Peopleamp; Talent - Systems and Analytics, you will work closely with the Finance teams and the People and Talent teams to provide accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis. What you will do: Review and process payroll journal entries produced by UKG Pro and third-party providers. Prepare adjusting entries and monthly GAAP entries for Canada, USA, Europe, and Asia payrolls.Prepare monthly reporting package including support schedules for payroll liabilities and accrued salaries, vacation, and bonuses payable.Prepare daily bank reconciliation of all payroll-related receipts and disbursements.Prepare funding for company benefit plans including group Pension/401K plans.Reconcile payroll liability accounts including group insurance premiums, wage attachments, payroll withholdings and employer taxes.Assist with year-end reporting requirements and financial statement preparation.Maintain confidentiality and comply with Privacy legislation. Who you are:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; CPA designation strongly preferredMinimum 2 years’ experience in payroll accounting or a similar roleKnowledge of global payroll legislation, Employment Standards, Taxation rules and year end reporting processesAdvanced skills in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office programsKnowledge and experience working with UKG Pro including Business Intelligence Reporting, experience with large volume data analysis is requiredProven analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skillsDemonstrate sound judgment showing tact, diplomacy, and discretion in handling information of confidential and/or sensitive natureExcellent interpersonal and communication skills demonstrating a high level of customer focus and service orientationAbility to work under pressure, prioritize workload and adapt as changes occur in a demanding environmentStrong communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships as a team playerAbility to identify process improvements to improve efficiency and provide guidance to colleaguesWillingness to learn in a dynamic environment that includes new ideas and changeWe thank all applicants for their interest in employment with BentallGreenOak (Canada) LP, however only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
