Plus you canbring your dog to work with you!POSITION OVERVIEW We are looking for a Proposal Writer- Marketing Manager and strategic pursuit specialist, an excellent communicator and writer, and a creative thinker who is keen to grow our business in Western Canada. Reporting to the firm’s Principals, the successful candidate will lead our pursuit process and manage multiple concurrent strategic proposal writing and marketing initiatives. This position reports to our operations leaders; and to other senior staff as directed for specific projects.ABOUT THE ROLETo support our efforts in business development, the Proposal Writer - Marketing Manager will create, write and design the firm #39;s marketing materials, proposals and bids that effectively communicate who we are and the advantages our service offers to prospective clients and projects.AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITYManagement:

  • Mentor and manage a Marketing Coordinator
Proposal Development
  • Attend weekly marketing sessions with the Partners and marketing team
  • Collaborate with staff to prepare internal go-no-go evaluations for potential pursuit
  • Liaise with sub consultants and obtain the information required for the proposals
  • Liaise with potential partners and marketing assistance to coordinate roles and responsibilities of each party
  • Identify key site visits and arrange attendance by a partner or other employee, or yourself as required
  • Read requests for proposal documents to thoroughly understand and share proposal requirements with the team.
  • Prepare technical writing for all marketing material such as project sheets, firm profiles, staff bios, and awards submissions, publication applications, including the coordination and preparation of fee proposal submissions for a response to RFPs / RFQs.
  • Graphic layout proposals, awards, brochures, and other marketing content
  • Review and ensure the final proposal meets leadership #39;s expectations and a high standard of quality.
  • Maintain and develop proposal tools – templates, graphics, experience tables etc.
Marketing Management
  • Provide support to senior management and contribute to evolving our marketing and business development strategy, including responsibility to monitor and identify project opportunities that align with the firm’s business development objectives.
  • Provide leadership in editing content for marketing and business development. This may also include support to our project teams for content creation and editing of design reports as required
  • Lead and manage general marketing activities and resources, including company website and social media channels
  • Work with marketing support and other staff to develop social media content
  • Source, analyze and track potential opportunities in KMBR’s marketplaces
  • Lead the creation and production proposal and award submissions
  • Working with the Principals, lead the creation and production of material for presentations and proposal interviews
  • Organize photoshoots for exciting architectural projects
  • Strategize on award and publication submissions and assist in developing content
  • Coordinate the process for marketing information management including update of databases for projects, clientsamp; collaborators, and contribution to style guides and templates.
  • Generate and track proposal success and deliver reports
  • May be asked to attend conferences or key social events and liaise with clients
  • Manage Company’s social media channels including Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin
RequirementsWe foster a workplace that’s inclusive and diverse. The right candidate will have:
  • At least 3+ years of experience as a Proposal Writer or a mix of Marketing/Proposal writing with an architectural, engineering, or construction firm.
  • Extensive experience in proposal preparation and management: highly skilled in content structure and graphic layout.
  • Must be an expert at InDesign and have a high level of proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and researching skills.
  • A high degree of attention to detail (accuracy, proofreading, spelling, grammar, consistency).
  • Excellent organizational skills and experience handling multiple priorities and competing deadlines simultaneously.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, WordPress, and SEO; social media literate specifically in B2B channels is an asset
  • Desire to network, source new work opportunities, and develop new client relationships is an asset.
  • A bachelor #39;s degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or a related field is highly valued
  • An understanding of KMBR’s market sectors
