Job Description

On behalf of our client in Burnaby, Ignite Technical Resources is looking for Part-time Senior Java Developer with our client for a 3 months contract opportunity.Summary of Role:Client is looking for an experienced Java developer to work on a J2EE based multi-tier web application integration project. The successful candidate is expected to adopt client’s development methodology and to work on implementing changes based on specifications derived from business requirements.Responsibilities:

  • Work within a team to implement changes to an existing J2EE application and integrate with other systems.
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements.
  • Assist QA to resolve issues that arise during QA Testing.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to development and QA teams.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of development experience with Java EE.
  • 10+ years of development experience with SQL.
  • 10+ years of experience with XML.
  • 5 +years of experience with creating cross browser friendly and cross platform friend web application using JSP, Javascript and CSS.
  • 3+ years of experience developing in Eclipse
  • 3+ years of experience working with Oracle databases and Weblogic.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
  • Experience with Javascript/JQuery/AJAX
  • Experience integrating with other systems using REST API or other 3rd party webservices.
  • Experience in performance optimization techniques for custom built applications.
  • Demonstrated superior analytical, problem solving and judgement skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and able to manage simultaneous priorities, pressures, and deadlines.
  • Ability to learn and quickly comprehend technical and business concepts.
  • Working for public agencies and/or social service organizations
