Job Description

The Cisco Distributed System Engineering (DSE) group is at the forefront of developing products that power the largest networks in the world. Who You Are As a CVT Solution qualification engineer, you are expected to possess the following qualities:Passion: You have a genuine passion for qualifying and automating service provider (SP) and web networking solutions, as well as various use cases. You are driven by the desire to ensure smooth deployments for customers in these domainsExperience: You have practical experience in qualifying, deploying, troubleshooting, and/or maintaining SP and web networking technologies. This includes XR platforms, which are a particular focus. Your experience may involve working with Cisco #39;s ASR9K, NCS5500, NCS5000, and 8000 platformsKnowledge: You possess a strong understanding of SP and web networking technologies, with a focus on XR platforms. Your knowledge encompasses areas such as network design and deploymentAutomation: You have experience in automating testing processes and procedures, with an emphasis on service provider and web networking solutions. This includes designing and developing test frameworks and tools to streamline the qualification processTroubleshooting: You are skilled in troubleshooting and resolving issues that may arise in SP and web networking environments. This expertise allows you to effectively address customer concerns and reproduce issues in the internal test labHaving network design and/or deployment experience would be a significant advantage in this role, as it demonstrates a holistic understanding of the challenges and considerations involved in real-world network implementations. Overall, your qualifications and experiences position you as a valuable asset in qualifying and automating SP and web networking solutions, ensuring successful deployments for customers. What You #39;ll Do As a CVT (Customer Validation Testing) Solution qualification engineer, your role will involve collaborating with a talented and diverse team to qualify and automate the latest technologies, XR platforms, and solutions. These will be deployed in high-end Cisco Webamp; Service Provider customers #39; environments, impacting users worldwide. Your responsibilities will include:Designing, configuring, qualifying, and automating customer use cases using IOS-XR based platforms such as ASR9K, NCS5500, NCS5000, and 8000Creating state-of-the-art test frameworks and tools to support the test execution environmentDeveloping web-based GUIs that utilize analytics and machine learning to intelligently display and analyze execution resultsExecuting test cases manually and through automation, as well as raising, tracking, prioritizing, and verifying defects and their fixesProactively seeking continuous improvements in test coverage, execution, and automation. Optimizing performance and configuration dimensioningReproducing customer issues in the internal test lab as requested by the customer support teamGenerating test execution reports and technical whitepapersCollaborating with teams across geographies and multiple continentsBy fulfilling these responsibilities, you will contribute to the qualification and success of cutting-edge technologies and platforms, ensuring their reliability and performance in real-world customer deployments. Basic QualificationsBachelor #39;s degree in a relevant technical discipline such as EE/CS and 7+ years of related experience in Software Quality assurance experience in network automationNetwork automation skills using Python, GoLang, and JenkinsPreferred QualificationsYou possess a CCIE (Routingamp; Switching / Service Provider / Data Center) You have extensive hands-on experience on the following platforms: ASR9K, NCS5500, NCS5000, NCS540/NCS560, NCS6K, CRS, 8000 You are knowledgeable in Routing hardware/platforms/forwarding architecture and networking technologies You have good experience in UNIX/Linux and Bash/Unix Shell Scripting Knowledge and configuration/troubleshooting experience in Protocols : ISIS/OSPF, BGP, L2/L3 VPN, EVPN, SR, IPv6, MPLS-LDP/RSVP-TE, Multicast, SNMP, Telemetry Strong knowledge in network automation tools like Ansible, Robot framework and Cisco NSOWhy Cisco #WeAreCisco. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate #39;s hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. hiring location. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
