Job Description

On behalf of our client in Vancouver, BC, Ignite Technical Resources is looking for a Technical Documentation Writer for a 12-months contract-to-hire position. Role:We are looking for a Senior Technical writer to develop and maintain online technical documentation for enterprise and telecom business units. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with cutting edge technology stacks and industry leaders in the fields of mobile networking, cloud computing and software defined networking backed by a team of veteran engineers and architects.Responsibilities:

  • Develop customer facing online documentation maintained in source controlamp; version control.
  • Content creation for application platform guides: API, administration, system requirements, release notes, knowledge base articles, technical training content, etc.
  • Create and maintaining templates for documentation for a consistent look and feel.
  • Maintain technical content for future documentation development.
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of technical writing for SaaS and Cloud software available to worldwide customers.
  • Background of Linux based applications.
  • Knowledge of REST API’s and basic browser functions (network calls, statuses, etc.)
  • Experience with text-based markup formats such as Markdown, reStructuredText, etc.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Solid work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Strong technical background and the ability to grasp new technologies and tool quickly.
  • Excellent written and editorial skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of document management tool (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other software programs).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects.
Nice-to-haves:
  • Degree in a communication in preferred.
  • Telecommunications exposure is beneficial.
