The following positions are available: -Permanent part time (5 shifts bi-weekly)- benefits available with these lines.-Temporary full time (9 shifts OR 7 shifts bi-weekly)-CasualSalary: Starting at $23.19 per hour ($20.19 plus $3 per hour government incentive). Wage is increased over time to a maximum of $26.45 ($23.45 plus $3 per hour government incentive) based on worked hours as a PSW within the organization.Position Overview: Shalom Manor is a 144 bed Long Term Care home located in Grimsby, ON. The Personal Support Worker (PSW) provides skilled care to Long Term Care home residents as directed by the residents individual plan of care. On the day and evening shift the average PSW to resident ratio is one PSW per 7 residents. All work shall be done in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of the Home, Resident Bill of Rights, applicable legislation and regulations, corporate policies and procedures and collective agreements.Key Accountabilities/Activities: Residents % of Time Spent: 75 %· Provide skilled care for all activities of daily living in accordance with corporate policy, established standards and recognized nursing practice.· Assist the registered staff in nursing diagnostic and therapeutic measures.· Complete all Point of Care documentation on time, and in accordance with corporate policies, ensuring that it is both current and accurate.· Ensure a holistic, quality approach to resident care consistent with Shalom’s Mission, Vision, Values and the Resident Bill of Rights.· Provide assistance and support with resident meal service.· Provides assistance and support with restorative nursing.Internal Processes % of Time Spent: 25 %o Strategize, cooperate and conduct all activities necessary for the effective completion of resident care during his/her shift(s) and throughout the unit.o Execute care in accordance with current legislation, best practices, corporate policies and procedures.o Participate in agency risk management program related to resident care.o Participate in quality improvement program related to resident care.o Perform timely, accurate and complete documentation for all care delivered on the assigned shift in accordance with legislation, regulations and internal requirements.o Participate in new staff/student mentoring as assigned and promote educational opportunities to enhance their education.o Participate in departmental, Interdisciplinary Team and resident safety meetings.o Promote good understanding and teamwork between shifts, registered and unregulated staff and the collective agreement.o Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including:o Practice proper body mechanics in daily routines, particularly when using computer equipmento Use all equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s instructionso Follow established safety procedures for lock outso Wear proper safety equipment and PPE when necessary.Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PermanentJob Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, CasualPart-time hours: 0-37.5 per weekSalary: From $23.45 per hourBenefits:
