Job Description

Position and Company:Chorus Aviation invites application for the full time, permanent position of Manager, Corporate Communications to work out of our Dartmouth head office. The incumbent will play a key role in managing and enhancing the Chorus brand and reputation while collaborating on corporate communications initiatives across the Chorus group of companies.Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Chorus Aviation Inc. (TSX: CHR) is a leading global aviation solutions provider and asset manager focused on regional aviation. The Chorus team is highly experienced in all facets of the regional aviation industry.Purpose of position:Reporting to the Director of Corporate Affairs, this role will bring a strong blend of content: writing skills and experience, social, multi-media and graphic design skills while bringing a positive, client-focused and collaborative approach to their role. As a professional communicator skilled in different aspects of developing, implementing and evaluating strategic communications efforts, you will support a variety of initiatives in close collaboration with colleagues across the Chorus group of companies.Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactive and reactive communication planning for external and internal initiatives and projects, including, managing the ongoing re-design of the company website and a new intranet.
  • Work independently as well as part of a team in the preparation and implementation of communication plans and products including but not limited to: news releases, speeches, presentations, backgrounders, social media content and other collateral.
  • Develop relevant visuals/graphics, and plan and distribute internal communication materials in collaboration with internal clients in support of robust employee communications and engagement.
  • Assist with investor communications and quarterly financial releases and meetings as required.
  • Act as a key department representative on various project teams as directed and be seen as a trusted advisor by Chorus group of companies when supporting local communications initiatives.
  • Play a key role in the design, story-telling and content development aspects of the company #39;s annual sustainability report as well as other company filings.
  • Act as key company representative to manage relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
  • Development of engaging content for the company website and multi-media projects aligned with the company #39;s brand standards.
  • Respond to media inquiries and/or support subsidiary contacts with local inquiries through the development of key messages, Q amp;A and backgrounders, as required.
  • Research and provide information to assist with responses to media and stakeholder requests as required.
  • Stay up to speed on timely industry and competitive information and trends.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and customers.
Qualifications:
  • Public Relations, Strategic Communications or related education.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience
  • Strong writing, editing and research abilities.
  • Highly skilled in PowerPoint and key elements of the Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suites.
  • Knowledge and experience in video production, graphic design / visual storytelling, layout and social media platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with communication best practices and ability to stay current with emerging trends.
  • Strong sense of urgency / energy when conducting duties - focused and performance driven.
  • Flexible, strategic thinker with ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to work in time-sensitive situations and work in a confidential environment.
  • Aviation industry experience and/or knowledge is considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism (Englishamp; French) is considered an asset.
