Job Description

We are looking for a high energy, passionate, customer obsessed and creative individual to join our leadership team to help manage day to day business operations and drive performance through transformation.Position Responsibilities:- Conduct risk assessment and classification in accordance with Manulife #39;s philosophy and standards.- Communicate and collaborate with sales colleagues and head office to provide the highest quality and competitive decisions to our clients.- Maintain positive and effective relationships with internal and external partners.- Consistently deliver the best customer experience by making every interaction meaningful- Comply with consumer laws and regulations regarding risk classification, confidentiality, and disclosure.- Identify and propose solutions to problems and procedures related to the underwriter #39;s work.- Promote an atmosphere of trust with all clients to facilitate the acceptance of decisions.Required Qualifications:- Minimum of 5 years of Underwriting experience as a life insurance underwriter.- You are continuously learning - currently enrolled or very interested in insurance-related courses such as LOMA and/or ALU courses.Preferred Qualifications:- A university or college degree in a related discipline is considered an asset.- Approval limit of at least $5,000,000 in life insurance and $250,000 in critical illness insurance.- Be on the lookout for trends and changes in medicine, knowledge of human anatomy, medical terminology, diseases, tests, and modes of treatment.- General awareness of current events, industry issues and trends- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to define, research and solve problems.- Excellent mentoring skills.- Exemplary customer service skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.- Putting our customers first. You go the extra mile because it #39;s the right thing to do.- Ability to understand, preserve and apply current technical information to everyday work problems.- Demonstrate your knowledge of pricing tools, systems, and processes as well as your ability to articulate the underlying principles and philosophies.- You are well organized with great attention to detail.- You are adaptable and flexible in the face of change.- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
