This department is a perfect fit for those that want to be part of the future of public education in the province by supporting student learning in a progressive and responsive environment.About Our OpportunityThe Administrative Assistant (Secretary 2) provides independent administrative support to the Director(s) through the effective management, coordination and efficient operation of the office. There are two (2) positions available; one reporting to the Director of Early Childhood Development and one reporting to the Director of Student Services. By having a good knowledge of the division, government processes and general administration, the Administrative Assistant acts as a primary contact for the division and acts as the liaison for staff, other government departments (federal, provincial, territorial and municipal), as well as external stakeholders in a highly confidential environment.Primary AccountabilitiesSupport the daily operation of the office of the Director and division Contribute to the development of administrative work standards Composes/prepares correspondence on behalf of the Director Manages, coordinates, and controls the Director #39;s electronic calendar Coordinates/arranges meetings, including logistics, negotiation, and organization Assists in coordinating the division #39;s budget, monitors forecast documents Organizes travel and accommodation requirementsQualifications and ExperienceThis may be the right opportunity for you if you have successfully completed an office administration program with 3 years of related experience or the equivalent combination of training and experience. You are dedicated to high standards of quality with proven initiative, integrity, judgement, decision making abilities, and communication skills (verbal and written). You are resourceful, reliable and have a high degree of organizational skills, which are required to determine priorities with minimal supervision in a busy environment. Essential skills include advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel), ability to create and manage processes and other efficient office management practices. A high degree of confidentiality, sensitivity, discretion and judgement are essential. You must be able to effectively respond to high volumes of work and work independently with minimal supervision.You value the concepts of equity, diversity, and inclusion in all areas of your work.
