We work collaboratively across the province with a strong dedicated network of support and staff, to achieve desired and shared outcomes for all.About Our OpportunityThe Agreement Officer is responsible for the coordination of agreements for the Service Provider Supports - Agreement Management team. This may be an exciting opportunity for you if you enjoy a team-based approach, have an eye for detail, strong writing skills, and find interest in working in multiple subject areas. This team is responsible for liaising with multiple Program areas (Disability Support, Child and Family well-being, Employment Support, and Income Assistance, which includes Homelessness) to create service level agreements (SLAs) that reduce risk and maximize outcomes for DCS, and Program participants. It also is the central repository for the agreement database and associated reporting documents. In this role, you will be a valued and vital team member, contributing to these efforts by ensuring timely and appropriate guidance is given to Program areas. You will achieve this by establishing yourself as a key contributor to the creation of SLAs.This will be done by following existing processes and providing valuable feedback on key aspects of SLAs; including service descriptions and outcome documentation.You may also contribute to the team by contributing to various internal/external communications regarding SLAs. Primary AccountabilitiesYou will assist in the organization, process development, documentation, and administration of team deliverables, as well as the creation and tracking of the agreements. A few key responsibilities include:

  • Liaise with Program area team members in the efficient building of funding agreements.
  • Compile, create, and communicate new agreements; efficiently responding to feedback and incorporating changes in future assignments.
  • Evaluate draft documents against requirements and assess appropriateness.
  • Document existing processes and identify options for improvement.
  • Verify and correct file-specific information so meaningful reporting can be generated.
  • Create/run database searches to provide meaningful reporting.
  • Contribute to meetings, workshops, and other supporting activities.
Qualifications and ExperienceAs our next Agreement Officer, you have a bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of related experience in designing or documenting services and or outcomes for third-party service providers within a government or comparable setting. Candidates who successfully show equivalent education/ experience may also be considered.Experience articulating service level requirements on a third-party provider, or, guiding others in accurately describing Program requirements in the related subject area is highly desirable. You are a collaborative team player with proficient skills in the use of a variety of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook or equivalent, as well as with Adobe or PDF Editor. You have sound judgment along with strong time management skills to ensure the timely completion of tasks. You are a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing. Attention to detail is essential. Knowledge of, and the ability to conduct data analysis and create reports is essential. You must always maintain confidentiality and a strong focus on client service. You can work effectively under pressure, with competing priorities, in this fast-paced environment.Previous experience with FileNet, Information Systems, SharePoint, agreement creation /maintenance, and/or knowledge of DCS programs would be an asset.We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.   • A completed Master’s degree along with three (3) years of related experience;
  • A related 2-year diploma and seven (7) years of related experience.

You will have daily contact with the public, various Government Departments as well as other local Agencies and Institutions. Your normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day. Additional InformationThis is a TERM employment opportunity with an anticipated end date of October 31, 2025. The appointment status (‘term’, ‘temporary’ or ‘casual’) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate. While this is a term opportunity now, there is a potential it may become a permanent opportunity in the future.Ideally, the successful candidate will work out of the Barrington Tower, Halifax location.Flexibility in the worksite location may be available and can be discussed at the offer negotiation stage.
