Job Description

Wizard of Paws Professional Dog Grooming and TrainingOur salon is looking for a dog grooming assistant- bather/dryer/prep that is passionate about pups to join our team as we continue to grow and expand our business in Downtown Georgetown.Skills & Qualifications

  • Must be reliable, dedicated, hard working, respectful, energetic and cheerful
  • MUST LOVE DOGS of all breeds, sizes and temperaments, and be comfortable lifting large dogs
  • Must be able to complete a task within a certain deadline in a fast paced environment
  • Must act professionally and not be afraid of getting dirty or wet
  • Must have an understanding of dog behaviour and be able to apply positive reinforcement training
  • Must be able to remain calm while prepping challenging dogs
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with clients, and understand their unique needs, educate them and make appropriate recommendations
  • Ensures high quality care and treatment of the dogs while they are in our salon
  • Has the ability to communicate effectively with clients, and understand their unique needs, educate them and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Must be a team player as we work together to build our client base.
Requirements
  • Able to intake dogs
  • Maintain sanitary workstation
  • Be able to work as a team or individually (self-motivated)
  • Bathing, drying, brushing dogs
  • Assist groomers with difficult dogs
  • Basic grooming procedures such as nail clipping, de-matting, de-shedding, ear cleaning, anal gland expression
  • Must keep facility clean and sanitized at all times
Working Hours
  • This position is part time. Hourly, paid lunch break.
Previous Experience
  • Certification in Animal Care or similar is required
  • References will be requested
