Through these partnerships, everyone is focused on ensuring a commitment and responsibility toward anti-racism, anti-oppression, equity, diversity, inclusivity, and belonging.MISSIONThe Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the the day-to-day accounting function, including budgeting and reporting, to ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting requirements.The Pod Group is partnering with this organization to place a highly passionate and driven leader to fulfill the role of the Financial Analyst. PRIORITIES

  • Provide support to the Chief Financial Officer and finance team in the day-to-day accounting functions.
  • Support the administration of all financial records, accounting processes and monthly, accumulative and annual financial reports and statements.
  • Prepare account reconciliations, including bank reconciliation, prepayment, accruals, deferred revenue and capital contribution schedules.
  • Support the closing of the month end, preparing journal entries, month-end reporting, as well as year-end closing.
  • Proactively maintains data integrity by ensuring all relevant information is up to date.
  • Identify, improve, and standardize processes within Finance where possible.
  • Process and submit employment and government formsamp; reports as required.
  • Preparation of working documents for annual finance audit and working with the auditors.
  • Comply with provincial legislation, including the Employment Standards Act (ESA) and organizational policies.
  • Ad hoc financial analysis, reporting and decision support to the finance team and other members of Leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.
RequirementsTALENTSamp; EXPERTISE
  • University-level bachelor #39;s degree in Accounting, Business or related field.
  • Obtained or in pursuit of CPA designation.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in accounting, budgeting, financial planning and analysis.
  • Strong sense of accountability and demonstrates ownership of responsibilities.
  • Highly organized with a capacity for understanding how information should be stored efficiently.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize and make decisions.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and other communication-related technology.
  • Understanding of legislation applicable to the organization.
  • Experience in preparing funding proposals and a track record in sourcing new funding streams.
  • Comfortable in making presentations to groups of all sizes.
  • Commitment to fostering a work and service delivery environment that is inclusive and reflective of the diversity in the community.
