Job Description

Our client, Mattina Mechanical Ltd (MML), is a well-established Full-Service Mechanical Contractor that continues to grow year after year. The head office is in Hamilton, Ontario. The RoleThe Project Manger (PM) is a management position that links field operations to the MML goals and objectives set by the Senior Management Team (SMT). The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for ensuring Field Managers (FM) have the resources to execute their projects and that they are executing the work in the administrative manner required by the MML. The Project Manger will spend approximately 75% of their time providing guidance to, readjusting priorities for, and resolving difficult issues with Field Managers (FM) on assigned projects. Approximately 25% of the PM’s time will be spent on working with the Senior Management Team (SMT) on company initiatives, planning and forecasting, resource assignments, and providing input on matters affecting customers and projects.What you’ll be doingThe Project Manager leads mechanical contracting building projects on behalf of the Company and works with Clients on behalf of the Senior Management Team (MT). The Project Manager has very good technical, project management, and personnel management capabilities and is able to guide field resources and Clients towards the successful execution of the project. In addition, the PM will mentor FMs to support their career growth within the business. The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for ensuring the Field Managers (FM) have the resources to execute their projects and that they are executing the work in the administrative manner required by the MML. RequirementsWhat we #39;re looking for:

  • Minimum 1-3 years experience as a Project Management in the ICI building construction industry. Mid-rise residential construction experience may also be considered.
  • Minimum of 1 years experience with mechanical building systems including piping and HVAC
  • Diploma or University Degree in engineering, construction, building science or related field
  • Licensing / Red Seal in their specific trade or equivalent experience, an asset
  • PMP Certification or working towards
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple construction projects and personnel
  • General MML in house training as specified for Project Managers. A completion schedule for courses will be developed as part of annual goal setting activities. For individuals already in the role, or for new individuals hired directly into the role, the specified training must be completed within 2 years
  • Will proactively continue to upgrade project and personnel management skills
  • Driver’s License in good standing
