Material Handler - 10 Month Contract Parrishamp; Heimbecker Join our team that shares your Passionamp; Heart for Canadian agriculture! Parrishamp; Heimbecker, Limited (P amp;H) has an opportunity for a motivated, forward-thinking, and dedicated individual as a Material Handler for our Milling division based in Hanover, ON.P amp;H MillingP amp;H is the largest Canadian-owned milling company. The P amp;H Milling Group sources wheat from Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada to produce quality flour and cereal products. The lineup includes hard red spring wheat flour for breads and other bakery products, soft winter wheat flour for cakes and cookies, as well as semolina flour for pasta, organic flour, and atta flour for chappati. In our specialty milling operation in Saskatoon, we also mill pea fractions.From its mills in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Acton, Hanover, Hamilton, and Cambridge, Ontario; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Lethbridge, Alberta, the P amp;H Milling Group supplies flour to customers throughout Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Iceland, and Pacific Rim countries.Your RoleAs Material Handler, the successful candidate will be responsible for packaging and transferring finished product within the warehouse as well as providing support to daily operations within the mill.Training Period: 7am – 3pm (day) shift.Once training has been completed you will be placed on a 11pm – 7amshift.Day to Day

  • Set up machinery.
  • Package finished product into totes or paper bag containers, ensuring product is distributed into packaging at the correct weight.
  • Prepare and complete required documentation and labels for production and shipping.
  • Weigh, load and unload trucks with product including wheat, flour, Millfeeds and Feed Mids.
  • Track inventory of finished product in the warehouse.
  • Maintain a clean work area and perform sanitation duties within the plant including sweeping and vacuuming.
  • Comply with all related Standard Operating Procedures and complete all required reports according to BRCGS, HACCP and Food Safety Program.
  • Participate in fumigation/heat treatment cleanup.
  • Complete and comply with all health, safety and food safety training relating to the job.
  • Perform other operations duties as required and assigned by Warehouse Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a general labourer position.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and obtain a valid Forklift license.
  • Physically fit with the ability to safely lift and stack 25 kg bags.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable and dependable with an ability to work shiftwork, overtime and weekends as require.
  • Able to work in environments subject to dust allergens and higher temperatures as well as in all outside weather conditions.
