Taco Rio is currently recruiting a Breakfast Chef.About our company: Taco Rio is your trendy, local taco restaurant. Open since November 2020, we are fortunate to have been embraced with love by our Harrison Hot Springs, Agassiz and surrounding communities. We are local, from our aptly named Taco Rio, with “Rio” meaning river, and referring to the Miami River that flows behind us, sourcing fresh, local ingredients, and the blue river that runs through in the decor of our restaurant. We specialize in Westcoast-inspired Mexican cuisine, only producing the best quality of food, drinks, and service. Transit service stops in front of the restaurant, street parking, and parking is available in our lot. We want you to feel motivated to join and stay with us, growth opportunities like employee promotions will be considered, and your contributions will be evaluated as soon as 6 months of working with us.Essential duties and responsibilities: - ensures compliance with corporate policies and procedures to ensure guest satisfaction- able to work closely with other cooks and/or servers to meet the guests’ needs?- ensure the quality, quantity and presentation of all foods prepared and cooked food meets our standard for freshness, appearance and consistency- able to attend work reliably- able to follow instructions in prepping meats & food from scratch?- operating a machine to cut fresh vegetables?Skills, knowledge, experience, and qualifications: - minimum 2 years of comprehensive experience in a busy, full-service kitchen required- food safe level 1- maintain good sanitation and cleaning habits throughout each shift daily- ability to work in a fast-paced environment- ability to communicate effectively- ability to safely, lift, pull, push or carry approximately 40 pounds- superior organizational skills- proven previous experience as an independent worker and team building player- proven ability to multi-task and take direction well- proven safe work and reliable attendance record required- Mexican cooking experience is preferred but not requiredONLY APPLICANTS LEGALLY ELIGIBLE TO WORK IN CANADA WILL BE CONSIDERED.
