A highly established local Mechanical Company is looking to fill a Building Automation Systems Techniciansamp; Controls Engineer position. Excellent benefits, competitive compensation, and opportunities for professional development.This position works as a part of a team with other specialists at client or project job sites to ensure proper installation of controls systems, as well as provide diagnostic and repair services. Experience working with building automation systems and energy management systems. Understanding of mechanical systems: what they do and how they operate. Understanding of Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems. Niagara AX certification is strongly preferred. Experience with Honeywell and or Johnson #39;s JCI products.Building Automation Systems Technicians install, repair, and maintain computer-based control systems that control and monitor a building #39;s mechanical and electrical equipment including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), and energy management systems.Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technicians apply knowledge of various building trades, such as electrical, mechanical, telecommunications and information systems networks, to computer-based control systems and building automation and environmental control energy equipment in commercial and industrial buildings. They interface with customers, architects, engineers, and contractors to install and service building automation systems, including project startâ€up and commissioning, in office buildings, industrial property, medical centers, hotels, malls, retail stores, and warehouses. BAS Technicians are responsible for troubleshooting, fixing and updating HVAC systems and associated controls; downloading, updating and verifying software accuracy; and calibrating and testing HVAC systems and controls. BAS Technicians must be well versed in environmental energy equipment such as heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems, heat pumps, boilers, air handlers, variable air volume and mixing boxes, chillers, and related equipment, lighting control, security and access control, irrigation, and fire alarm interfaces, and water leak detection.
