Summary of the opportunity- Client Overview: The Coalition is a growing team of talented professionals dedicated to pushing the Gears of War franchise to new heights. Located in Vancouver, Canada, the studio is united in their passion for the game.- Role Summary: The Mid-Level Environment Artist will work closely with the Environment Art Team, Level Art Team, and other departments to bring the artistic vision to life. The role involves creating 3D assets, models, textures, and surfaces, actively accepting feedback, and supporting other team members.4. What are the key responsibilities- Uphold the values of The Coalition Art Team and foster a creative, positive, and inclusive culture for the level art team- Contribute to the Environment Art team throughout the production phases- Create high-quality 3D assets, models, textures, and surfaces- Fix bugs and polish in-game assets- Actively accept feedback from environment art lead and art director- Offer support to OS reviewers/managers and external artists if needed- Work well under deadlines, being self-motivated and collaborative5. What experience are we looking for to drive success- MUST-Have Skills and Qualifications:- Knowledge and experience in AAA game development- Portfolio showcasing environment artwork- Ability to model, sculpt, and texture environmental assets and surfaces- Proficiency in Maya or other 3D software, ZBrush, Substance Painter or Mixer, and Photoshop- Comfortable with a modern game engine such as Unreal, Frostbite, or Unity- Excellent communication skills- Preferred Skills and Qualifications:- Experience with organic and hard surface asset creation- Openness to hybrid working in the Vancouver studio6.
