Job Description

Position Summary Under the direct supervision of the Racing Secretary, this position is responsible for riding horseback in the racecourse area and picking up stray horses while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environme nt for all team members. Ensures adherence to the Companys policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadians learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team me mbers. Key Accountabilities

  • Picks up or catches stray horses while on horseback
  • Rides in post parade during live cards as required
  • Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments Builds strong working relationships with guests and team members
  • Complies with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regu lations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Education and Qualifications
  • Strong customer service, inter-personal, and communication skills, including good oral and written English
  • Abilit y to successfully obtain a Gaming License
  • Excellent computer skills and data entry experience an asset
Work Environment Considerations
  • Regular racetrack environment, horseback riding for long periods of time, major exposure to the elements, risks associated with horses, non-traditional work hours
