  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license
  • Physically capable of performing manual tasks (e.g. lifting, climbing, shovelling for extended periods of time, using repetitive tools)
  • Able to work around dust and chemicals in extreme weather conditions and with various noise levels
Qualifications:Essential:
  • Experience in year round grounds maintenance, including snow removal and maintenance of lawns, trees, hedges, shrubs, flower garden at large commercial facilities.
  • Experience in operating and servicing grounds equipment including large grass mowers, tillers and snow removal equipment
  • Knowledge of Workplace Safety & Health Act, related regulations, safe work practices and WHMIS
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of government as well as the general public
  • Experience working in a team
Desired:
  • Experience supervising employees.
  • Experience using SAP or similar work-order software.
Duties:Under the general supervision of the Grounds Manager, the incumbent performs ground maintenance at Headingley Correctional Centre and other owned properties in District Two.
