Job Description

True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for a dependable individual to join our team.The Health Officer will be responsible for overseeing the medical needs of all campers on site and assist the Operations Manager with Workplace Safety.What to be excited for in this role:

  • Print medical reports for the upcoming week.
  • Contact parents ahead of week with any questions and/or concerns.
  • Oversee all medical needs of campers throughout the week.
  • Provide First Aid as needed to all campers and staff. This position is the first responder in medical emergencies.
  • Ensure accidents/injuries are reported and recorded using proper procedures.
  • Dispense all medications and record on Weekly MAR.
  • Communicate all medical concerns or accidents to the Coordinators and/or Director and to the parents of campers involved.
  • Communicate all allergies, dietary restrictions, and relevant medical concerns to the Food Services Manager, prior to each camp week. Ensure all precautions are in place.
  • Communicate all allergies, dietary restrictions, and relevant medical concerns to each group leader, each camp week.
  • Ensure all First Aid kits are stocked and ready for each week and the Director is aware of any supply purchases needed
What we need from you:
  • Currently enrolled in a nursing/medical program at a post-secondary institute or an emergency response program.
  • The following certifications, or willingness to obtain some or all:
  • Standard First Aid (CPR-C)
  • Fire Training
  • WHMIS
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Valid Class Five drivers license and access to a vehicle (some local driving required).
  • Candidates must provide a Criminal Background Check and Child Abuse Registry Check as a condition of employment.
