INTERLAKE RESERVES TRIBAL COUNCIL Job OpportunityJOB TITLE: Tribal Wellness Outreach WorkerLOCATION: IRTC Head Office , Fairford, MB or Sub-Office, Headingley, MBSALARY: Based on experienceTERM: ASAP – March 31, 2023 (with possibility of renewal) Under the direction and supervision of the Tribal Wellness Coordinator, the Tribal Wellness Outreach Worker will work with the Wellness Team to carry out the wellness activities focusing on a strength-based approach and protective factors within the Interlake Reserves Tribal Council Member First Nation communities. Activities include, but not limited to:· Consistently working with the communities to provide support in the delivery and coordination of mental wellness programs and services.· Providing support and follow up between visits to the community and individuals.· Assisting frontline workers with capacity building, referrals, and other resources.· Liaise with other partners (other IRTC programs, IERHA, hospitals, MHCC, etc.) to enhance wellness programs and services in the member communities.Qualifications: · Grade 12 and post-secondary education in Social work or a related discipline and/or a combination of three (3) years’ experience working with First Nations in a mental wellness capacity.· Health & Wellness certifications (I.e., ASIST 11, Mental Health First Aid, , safeTALK, CPR, etc.) a definite asset.· Knowledge of mental wellness issues specific to First Nations.· Excellent public speaking skills.· Must be available to work flexible hours and be able to travel.
