It is a safe community to raise a family with reasonable housing prices.The Talent Management Specialist (TMS) is a strategic and consultative partner within the Peopleamp; Culture team. This role is responsible for strategic recruitment planning, reporting, people analytics, and systems improvement initiatives to support the hiring and retention needs at the Departmental and Organizational level. Developing innovative and effective strategies for the University, the TMS will provide strong and effective leadership, direction, and professional expertise across the University.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESBuild and maintain relationships with departments/divisions to develop comprehensive recruitment strategies that include workforce availability, talent sourcing, strategic advertisements and effective interview and selection criteria.Proactively identify labor market and hiring trends, retention issues, and integrate findings into recruitment strategies.Analyze workforce data and trends to support Peopleamp; Culture strategies and initiatives.Evaluate core people practices and systems, while supporting improvements to enhance organizational effectiveness and to support and sustain an equitable, diverse and inclusive University campus.Collaborate with Peopleamp; Culture to champion succession planning and workforce programs to initiate long-term retention strategies.Support orientation and onboarding processes by identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement.Collaborate with members of the Peopleamp; Culture team to support and develop organizational development initiatives to retain and advance current employees.Work with internal/external stakeholders to champion employer branding and recruitment strategies.Promote the University as an Employer of Choice through various channels; social media, web sites, job fairs, while pursuing recognition from formalized employer programs (BC #39;s Top Employers, etc.)REPORTS TODirector, HR Strategic PartnershipsQUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLSA Bachelor #39;s Degree in human resources or related field; Master #39;s Degree preferredProfessional designation would be an asset; CPHR, RPR, PMP, etc.5+ years of demonstrated experience in a related field (human resources, talent acquisition/recruitment), with an emphasis in leading recruitment initiatives at a departmental and organizational levelExperience working in a Post-Secondary environment is an assetExperience designing, implementing, and leading talent acquisition and development strategies with an equity, diversity and inclusion lensExperience managing large scale organizational-wide projects from start to finish including planning, gaining buy in, budgeting, designing, and implementingCourageous leadership skills with emphasis on systems thinking, communication and change managementExcellent verbal, written communication, organizational skills, with an attention to detailProven ability to take initiative and build strong cross-functional partnerships at all levels of the organizationAn entrepreneurial spirit with the persistence to implement good practices and create necessary buy inAbility to thrive in an environment with shifting prioritiesStrong coaching, influencing, facilitation, and presentation skillsPay BandAdmin Pay Band BHLocationKamloops, BC CA (Primary)# of Hires Needed1Organizational UnitThompson Rivers University - gt; People and CultureDiversity and Inclusion Commitment:Thompson Rivers University is strongly committed to hiring based on merit with a focus on fostering diversity of thought within our community.
