Externally, the Corporate Director fosters and influences the organization’s relationships with the Health Employers Association of British Columbia (HEABC), government agencies, other Health Authorities, trade unions, special interest groups, and members of the public in matters related to HR operations and strategy.What will you work on:• Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and provides leadership and consultation in the successful design, planning, implementation, integration, and evaluation of initiatives relating to renewal, redesign, restructuring, and reconfiguration of operational services.• Liaises with Senior Leadership tables within IH and connects with Directors, Managers, employees, physicians, other Health Authorities, and regulatory bodies regarding critical problem-solving activities that assist in Portfolio and organizational decision-making.• Develops business cases, proposals, and impact analyses for program and departmental expansions and contributes to business cases for other portfolios regarding program planning, expansion, and implementation to the Senior Executive Team, higher levels of the organization, the Board and Ministry of Health Services.• Directs and implements strategic initiatives utilizing change management motivation and analysis and manages projects effectively in a multi-disciplinary and complex environment, utilizing project management principles and methodologies.• Translates provincial mandates and IH-wide direction into operational strategies, while working collaboratively with HR leadership tables and external partners to ensure smooth integration into service delivery.• Uses data from quality indicators, financial targets, and research to develop frameworks, systems, and monitor processes that measure and improve HR recruitment and marketing services. • Serves as a senior representative and liaises with counterparts from other Health Authorities, Health Match, and HEABC on various industry initiatives and partnerships on projects such as implementation of new technologies, systems, and processes. • Oversees and directs the delivery of benefits and employee records activities and the continuous development of employee-centric services. Supports the integration of benefits services for the ongoing development of benefit models, policies, and procedures and ensures organizational compliance with such models, policies, and procedures.• Directs the delivery of Human Resources Compensation and works with the Health Employers Association of BC (HEABC) with ongoing development of compensation models, policies, and procedures ensuring compliance with Provincial and health authority policies and procedures.• Oversees and administers the annual performance management process for executive and excluded staff and completes compensation reports ensuring compliance with Public Sector Employers Council and HEABC policies.• Oversees all operations and provides expert advice on all matters related to employee and medical staff recruitment. • Maintains strong industry relationships in order to stay current on trends in competitive areas such as healthcare talent recruitment and are required to maintain compliance with new collective agreements while ensuring effective and sustainable human resource service delivery.• Provides leadership and guidance to employees using effective management techniques; coaches and mentors employees; creates a learning environment that promotes and supports professional growth of all employees. • Accountable for staffing functions including recruitment, hiring, ongoing development, and performance management, including disciplinary action and termination as required.• Responsible for ensuring hiring decisions are fair and equitable, with a lens on diversity and inclusion, IH #39;s Aboriginal Recruitment Strategy and on promoting IH as a welcoming workplace.• Develops and oversees portfolio budgets, monitors expenditures, performs variance analysis and reporting, and implements remedial action.• Performs other related duties as assigned.Honouring Interior Health’s commitment to Truth and Reconciliation and the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA), and Pursuant to Section 42 of the BC Human Rights Code, preferential consideration and/or hiring will be given to qualified applicants who self-identify as Aboriginal (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit).
