Central Okanagan Public Schools has an excellent reputation of providing outstanding, student-centered programs in a diverse and inclusive environment as well as offering a wide range of educational opportunities for its students and staff.We invite applications for the position of:PainterUnder the supervision of the Assistant Director of Operations this position performs all types of painting work and may be required to start work at various project locations.Responsibilities include:preparing various surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, burning, sanding, sandblasting, etc.; assessing condition of building surfaces and applying appropriate caulks, tapes, fillers, putties and cements to repair holes, cracks and other damaged areas; mixing, matching and blending various paints, enamels, lacquers, varnishes, stains and special protective coatings to achieve desired colour, consistency and drying properties; painting buildings, structures, equipment and furniture using brushes, rollers, electrostatic sprayers and other applicators; responding to graffiti incidents, identifying best method, and removing graffiti using various mechanical and chemical means; documenting graffiti and maintaining an online photographic record of incidents.Successful applicants will have:completed Grade 10;B.C. or Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Painter Ticket; demonstrated training and work experience in current BC construction/maintenance/safety requirements and WCB Regulation relating to the trade and industry;a valid B.C.
