Who are we looking forInterior Health is looking for a permanent full time Practice Lead, Mental Healthamp; Substance Use (MHSU) to join our Aboriginal Mental Wellness team.The worksite location for this position is flexible and can be located anywhere within the Interior Health region.Travel is a requirement of this position.Some of the Benefits of Joining Interior Health:An attractive remuneration package Excellent career prospects Employer paid training/education Employer paid vacation Medical Service Plan Employer paid insurance premiums Extended Healthamp; Dental coverage Municipal Pension Plan Work-life balanceWhy Interior Health is a Top 100 BC EmployerHow will you create an impact What will you work onThrough an Aboriginal Mental Wellness Plan, Interior Health (IH) is committed to improving the mental health and wellness of Aboriginal populations.Five areas of focus emerge from within the Aboriginal Mental Wellness Plan: developing and enhancing of family and community based prevention, promotion, awareness, and selfcare supports; meaningful engagement; building trauma-informed, cultural safe mental health and substance use services; increasing equitable access, improving transitions, and reducing barriers; and applying a continuous quality improvement lens.The Practice Lead, Aboriginal Mental Wellness is responsible for supporting the plan, setting standards and direction for services that fall within the Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) portfolio by utilizing quality improvement and project management processes and collaborating with other portfolios to ensure the seamless integration of client-centered services.Priority is mental wellness, with a goal of improving the wellness of Indigenous people in the Interior in identifying patient needs, priorities and gaps in services. Assessing and identifying critical issues and opportunities in health-care, the Practice Lead, Aboriginal Mental Wellness will develop strategic recommendations for the portfolio and organization.Crucial to the success of the position is the ability to analyze and consolidate Ministry, First Nation Health Authority, Indigenous and other external partners and IH objectives; evidence-based and/or practice informed service delivery; emerging best practices, standards, and existing or new regulatory requirements into viable operation plans for IH.The purpose of this role is to enhance IH’s capacity to deliver meaningful access to culturally safe, trauma-informed MHSU services.
