Job Description

Commissionaires BC are seeking motivated security professionals for our busiest sites in downtown Kelowna and West Kelowna. As an employee with Commissionaires BC, you’ll be working with an organization focused on growth and innovation. This is a unique opportunity to work at multiple sites where you will need to be available between the hours listed below .Shifts Available:

  • Thurs to Mon: Must be available between the hours of 2200-0800 (10:00PM-8:00AM)
  • Wed to Sun: Must be available between the hours of 2200-0800 (10:00PM-8:00AM)
  • Wed to Sun Must be available between the hours of 1400-2200 (2:00PM-10:00PM)
Guaranteed 40 hours per workQualifications:
  • You hold a valid BC Security License (mandatory)
  • OFA 1 or higher
  • A BC Class 5 DL with a clean driver #39;s abstract (mandatory)
  • 1-2 years working in security
  • You have excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Eligibility to obtain a PW clearance (must be a resident of Canada for 5+ years - mandatory reuirement)
  • Eligibility to obtain an RCMP clearance (must be a resident of Canada - mandatory requirement)
  • Some sites are not transit friendly - you will need your own vehicle to get to and from sites.
Your nice to haves:
  • Non Violent Crisis Intervention training
  • OFA Level 1
  • De-escalation skills
  • Ability to work more than one site.
  • Experience using Tracktik software
Some of your responsibilities will include:
  • Continuous foot and vehicle patrols of downtown Kelowna.
  • Maintaining a safe environment for residents, business owners and those visiting Kelowna.
  • Handling any crisis situations in a calm and controlled manner.
  • Proactively responding to and resolving emergency situations and conflicts.
  • Effectively communicating problems or concerns to the Site Supervisor.
