Position Summary:Responsible for the processing of purchasing transactions and maintaining inventories to meet customer requirements; to strive to obtain maximum cost savings and manage the inventory investment according to Company guidelines.Major Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accuracy of inventory balances.
  • Coordinate stock rotations with vendors.
  • Purchase stock to meet the required demands.
  • Update and maintain manufacturers #39; catalogues and cost and price sheets.
  • Work with vendors to resolve pricing issues, shortages and delivery problems.
  • Make alternate arrangements in the event of shortages or delayed deliveries to minimize the impact on the organization.
  • Advise departments and business units of the lead time required to obtain products or services.
  • Work with custom brokers to ensure vendors supply proper NAFTA certificates and documentation.
  • Other duties include processing non-stock orders in a timely fashion, expediting all purchase orders, maintaining delivery information and reviewing and reducing Class 13.
  • Generate reports through Sx Enterprise as required.
  • Provide assistance to Counter Sales Representatives and Inside Sales Representatives, as needed.
Preferred Skillsamp; Experience:
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization and execution skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments and critical business partners.
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Knowledge of accounting and budgetary practices and principles.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of Sx Enterprise computer system would be an asset.
  • Additional training will be provided as required.
