Reporting to the General Manager,the Cultivation Manager at Robinsons’ role is essential to driving Robinsons’ continued success. This dynamic role’s responsibilities will include and not be limited to ensuring the highest quality cannabis is produced on a consistent basis in line with pre set targets, identifying new strains to elevate Robinsons’ portfolio, and forecasts, and being an ambassador to build brand awareness and excitement around the Robinsons story.This role will prioritize upholding all Auxly and Robinsons commitments, and executing a culture at Robinsons that holds quality, and health and safety as part of their core business values.What can you expect to do:Embody Auxly’s and Robinsons’ business mission and strategies and act in a responsible, ethical, and honest behavior while consistently leading by example.Lead Robinsons Cultivation Department with the utmost focus on health and safety, and quality; proactively implement corporate best practices and ensure site-wide compliance with all federal and corporate policies and regulations.Safeguard and uphold the integrity of the entire cultivation processes from seed to shelf by working cross-functionally and collaboratively to ensure adherence to all applicable laws and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).Ensure cultivation targets are set and met on yield and quality requirement with support from Operations and Quality teams.Establish and manage all cultivation related budgets including any Capex requirements and associated ROI calculations to support.Research and develop a modernized grow and fertigation strategy by working with suppliers to provide custom turn-key fertigation systems.Continuously analyze best multi-sensor systems to measure and fine-tune growing environments by documenting plant and crop development and auditing facility grow systems including water usage, and soil mixes.Integrally involved in the commissioning and validation of new equipment, products, and sub-systems as part of a continuous improvement process; develop cost-benefit analyses by maintaining records and monitoring growing techniques and reporting to Sr. Management.Remaining abreast of relevant and ground-breaking industry and role best practices and regulations including the Cannabis Act; networking with consultants, technical experts, and suppliers.Assist the regulatory leads as required on any Health Canada submissions and inspections, as applicable, ensuring absolute compliance to regulations at all times.Proactively identify and resolve challenges, consistently find a path forward through ambiguity, operating a dynamic and rapidly growing business in a new, highly regulated Canadian industry.Lead multi-disciplinary teams, ensure clarity in vision and strategy to enable a sense of shared responsibility towards collectively shared goals.Using a continuous improvement lens, identify opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, profitability, quality, accountability, and morale; proactively mitigate and resolve as required.Be a strong and empathetic People Leader: Inspire autonomous decision making, drive talent development, set goals and objectives for direct reports, and support them in achieving individual and team goals.Build and maintain strong relationships with senior cross-functional leaders as well as internal and external stakeholders and assist in delivering Robinsons’ strategy at a regional level.What we are looking for :Post-secondary education related to cultivation or agricultural practices and facility operation and maintenance knowledgePrevious experience in regulated cannabis environmentPrevious experience in a highly regulated environment , preference given specifically to Health Canada exposure in a cannabis environmentPrevious experience working with commercial cultivation/ growing building systems and facilities.Previous experience and understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, control systems, boilers etc.) in relation to needs for cultivationCurrent knowledge of provincial, federal, OH&S and other safety codes and regulations.Ability to read and interpret plans, sketches and detailed standard operating procedures and associated required regulatory paperwork.Experience with Microsoft products including Outlook, Word and Excel.Knowledge of Sage would be an advantageStrong communications skills with the ability to fluently speak, read, and write in the English language.Willingness and ability to work extended hours, if required.This position requires flexibility for irregular/weekend hours in a general production environment plus exposure to a horticultural environment.Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
